A team of four UCF students won the 2023 AFCEA Augusta TechNet International Military and Collegiate CTF Competition. Thirty-five teams from eight countries competed in the 4-hour-long competition hosted by the Georgia Cyber Center. Twenty-seven of the teams represented elite military cyber units from the United States and seven other countries. UCF’s team — Cameron Whitehead, Caitlin Whitehead, Jeffrey DiVincent, and Matthew McKeever — solved all the challenges in less than three hours earning 8,250 points. Two German military cyber teams finished in distant 2nd Place with 6,500 points and 3rd Place with 5,600 points. UCF’s team was the only U.S. military or college team to finish among the top 10.
