Welcome to Computer Science at UCF
Our mission is advancing human understanding of Computing. We do this both through teaching and research. In teaching we offer bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology. We offer master’s degrees in Computer Science and Digital Forensics and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. In research we have a distinguished and active faculty who do research in the many areas listed below.
Computer Science is responsible for research and degree programs in the areas of: Computer Science, and Information Technology, Digital Forensics, Data Analytics (or Data Science) and Financial Technology. In Computer Science we offer a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and a Master of Science degree in Digital Forensics. We also share an MS degree program in Data Analytics with the UCF department of Statistics and Data Science and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems. We also share a joint PhD program in Big Data Analytics with the department of Statistics and Data Science. Finally, we are excited to have a new joint degree program with the department of Finance in Financial Technology (FinTech).
Mission & Objectives
The mission of the Department of Computer Science is to advance human understanding of Computing through education and research. In education, our goal is to educate students to become effective team members and leaders, to have excellent communications and technical skills, and to prepare them for successful professional careers or advanced research, as appropriate. In research, our goal is to perform high-impact research that advances human understanding and benefits the economy and society.
