BIOGRAPHY
Corey Pittman is a lecturer at the UCF Department of Computer Science. Before coming to UCF, he was an assistant professor of computer science at the University of North Florida. He completed his doctoral degree in computer science at UCF in 2021. His research expertise lies in human-computer interaction, specifically exploring areas such as augmented reality, novel input techniques, and pattern recognition, as highlighted in his dissertation, “Evaluating Augmented Reality Tools for Physics Education.”
Pittman’s professional experience includes contributing to developing and maintaining camera backend systems at Snap Inc. and working on intelligent tutoring systems and image-based tools as an AI engineer at Soar Technology, Inc. He also gained research experience at Microsoft Research, focusing on streamlining control schemes for consumer drones. He has previously taught courses focusing on procedural programming, data structures and algorithms, theory of computation, and gesture-based interfaces.
