Beyond the Bachelor's Degree
Take the next step in your career and earn a Master of Science in Computer Science from UCF. Students in the program receive a broad background in the areas of programming, computer architecture and computer science theory while specializing in a research area such as computer vision, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing or virtual reality.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared for advanced careers across industries and can meet the needs of businesses in Florida.

CURRICULUM AND PROGRAM ADMISSIONS
The M.S. in Computer Science requires 30 credit hours beyond the bachelor’s degree. At least half of these hours must be at the 6000-level. Both options require 12 credit hours of required courses. Thesis students must take 12 credit hours of electives and a minimum of six credit hours of thesis. Non-thesis students must take 18 credit hours of electives and complete a culminating experience as determined by the program’s graduate committee.
There are no additional requirements for admission into the program beyond admission to UCF.

While licensure or certification may be available in this field of study, our program does not directly lead to such licensure or certification upon graduation. The professional preparation you receive in our program may still assist you in such pursuits; however, we are unable to confirm the specific licensure and certification requirements of each state, territory, or foreign entity in which professional credentialing may be possible. If you intend to pursue such credentialing in your state or elsewhere, we strongly advise you to contact the applicable state credentialing authority to familiarize yourself with its specific requirements and determine if our program meets its academic criteria.
