Congratulations to Dr. Mubarak Shah, who will receive a 2016 award for Faculty Excellence in Mentoring Doctoral Students in the disciplinary grouping of “Engineering, Physical, Mathematical, and Life Sciences.”

Congratulations to Eugene Taranta, Amirreza Samiei, Mehran Maghoumi, Pooya Khaloo, Corey Pittman, and Dr. Joseph LaViola for having their paper, “Jackknife: A Reliable Recognizer with Few Samples and Many Modalities” selected to receive an ACM SIGCHI Best of CHI Honorable Mention Award (top 5% of all submissions to CHI 2017).

Congratulations to Dr. Damla Turgut for winning the University excellence in professional service award, which will be given to her at the UCF Founder’s Day convocation.

Congratulations to Kyle Martin and Dr. Joseph LaViola who won a best paper award.

Congratulations to Dr. Greg Welch, who received a “Long Lasting Paper Impact” award at the ISMAR conference, along with Ramesh Raskar and Henry Fuchs for their 1998 “Spatial Augmented Reality” paper. This paper is the original work using computer driven projectors to augment physical objects.

Congratulations to professor Fei Liu, whose paper, Crowdsourcing Annotations for Websites’ Privacy Policies: Can It Really Work?, was selected as one of the five best papers of the WWW conference held April 11-15, 2016 in Montreal, Canada.
