Designing interactive and intelligent ways to work with data.
The Designing Interactive & Intelligent Data (DiiD) Lab in UCF's Department of Computer Science advances visual computing, human–computer interaction, and human-centered AI. We design and study interactive systems that help people analyze data, communicate with it, and critically interpret data-driven content.
Our research focuses on trustworthy data communication, human–AI collaboration, visualization design, and immersive interaction. Through design studies, systems development, and empirical research, we investigate how these technologies support reasoning, creativity, and decision-making in settings such as journalism and sports analytics.
We are part of UCF’s Interactive Computing Experiences Research Cluster and Digital Twin Initiative.
Research Overview
SEE ALL RESEARCHWe study how to verify data claims and communicate evidence through transparent, accountable visual interfaces.
We build interactive visualizations through design studies and explore how their design principles, methods, and tools can be reused and generalized across contexts.
