Time and Place: Thursday, December 7, 1 to 3 pm in CLI-121 (i.e., the classroom).
Topics: Chapter 2 (Equivalence Relations): pages 2-11 & 2-12; Chapter 3 (Induction): pages 3-1 through 3-23, skipping 3-3 and 3-9 through 3-12; Chapter 4 (Strings and Languages): pages 4-1 through 4-8.  
Format: Closed-book, closed-notes, no calculators; a reference sheet containing all relevant definitions and theorems will be provided on the test (for a copy of the reference sheet click  here); bring a photo-id to the test. 

Test 2
 

Time and Place: Thursday, November 2, 1 to 2:15 pm in class.
Topics: Chapter two of the course notes (Relations and Functions). 
Format: Closed-book, closed-notes, no calculators; a reference sheet containing all relevant definitions and theorems will be provided on the test (for a copy of the reference sheet click  here); bring a photo-id to the test.
