CURRENT:
The iUX Academy helped Bogen Communications, Inc. (a leading provider of sound systems and telephone peripherals for commercial, industrial, and institutional applications) prepare for the initial launch of their Nyquist E7000 series. Specifically, the iUX Academy conducted expert evaluations (heuristic evaluations and cognitive walkthroughs) and performed user testing to identify usability issues that could be problematic for users of the Nyquist system. With the help of the iUX Academy, Bogen Communications was able to significantly improve their web-based GUI before the system was released to schools for beta testing.

Project Goals:
- Ensure Bogen’s Nyquist web-based GUI was usable by teachers, school administrators, and IT personnel responsible for setting up and configuring the system
- Utilize a combination of expert evaluation techniques (heuristic evaluations, cognitive walkthroughs) and user testing to identify the most critical usability issues
- Provide design alternatives
Outcome:
Our evaluations and user testing identified several areas where changes could be made to the interface to improve its ease of use for each user group. Reports detailing our findings and recommendations were shared with the client. These recommendations helped the client to make changes to their web-based GUI that significantly improved its usability before it was released.
