NSF - Disrupting LegalTech: I-Corps: Using Artificial Social Intelligence for Legal Team Assistants.

Our research helps practitioners who want to perform qualitative data analysis on unstructured data. Unlike existing tools that do only data management, our tool also performs smart AI automation by leveraging machine learning based predictive analytics. The target customers are practitioners at law firms, corporations, government agencies, and academic researchers and who want to perform qualitative data analysis on large volumes of unstructured data. Our technology aids the case discovery process in the legal fields that often involves loads of electronically stored information. Document review-based case discovery that involve litigations is a $100 billion industry. In intellectual property cases alone, discovery of prior art literature is a $40 billion industry by itself.
