meeting -*- Outline -*- * forming teams If time, first have the students go around and first introduce themselves and say: 1. why they are in the class, and 2. what kind of grade they would are willing to work for (A, B, ...) Extol the virtues of forming teams with a diverse (ages, sexes, races, cultures, etc.) set of people in a team (better chances to have differnt perspectives on problems) If no time for this, at least mention it will happen at first team meeting time. ------------------------------------------ FOR YOU TO DO Find 3 (or 2) other people so you will be in a team of 4 (or 3). 1. Introduce yourselves 2. Make sure you have compatible schedules so you can meet (outside of class) 3. Make sure you are all taking the class for a grade, and discuss the kind of grade you are willing to work for 4. Exchange names, email addresses, and phone numbers. 5. Have someone email this list to all the team members and a copy to the TA. 6. Start thinking about what project you'd like to do. ------------------------------------------ Tell them phone numbers to us are optional, but we won't give them out. No teams of sizes other than 3 or 4 are premitted. You may have to fit people into teams if there are stragglers. Favor teams of 4 so can handle drops better.
