We just need the system to be different than the existing systems. As long as you can state what will be different than the existing systems, and as long as the difference is some direction that will allow your system to evolve along a different path, than it should be okay. But you should say how it is different. I think we discussed this on the phone already, but I wanted to answer this by email as well. Hope that helps... -- Gary T. Leavens To: Com S 362 students and staff , Neeraj Khanolkar Subject: More details on homework 2 Hi, Some students asked me after class a few questions about homework 2 in Com S 362 that I thought all of you should know. Q: Do we need to have all use cases at least in brief format? A: No, it's okay if some are just named, especially if there are a lot of them. You can get by in homework 2 with just casual and brief formats for the ones given in more detail. Q: Do we want homework 2 handed in by email or printed or what? A: It's easiest for us if you give us a printout. If you want to point us to a website for your documents, you can do that also, particularly if you have lots of hyperlinks that don't work in the printout. Don't mail us formatted documents (e.g., MS Word files). By the way, if you have a web site for your team, you can password protect it so other people on the web (and other teams) can't see it. To do this, see the course resources web page. If you do that, please let Neeraj and me know the password, so we can view it. :-) Also, you may find it convenient to work with permission groups on project vincent (or access control lists) to make documents available for editing by all members of a team. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns. -- Gary T.
