Primary area of my research is Computer Vision.

Computer vision is the science and technology of machines that see. As a scientific discipline, computer vision is concerned with the theory for building artificial systems that obtain information from images [WIKI].

 

I joined IBA Karachi in Aug-2017 as an Associate Professor. Previously, I was Associate Professor at University of Sharjah (2009-2017). I was a researcher at INRIA, a unit of the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control from 2007-2009. Working with Laptev and Patrick Perez in the VISTA group.

 

My current focus of research is Human Action Recognition from arbitrary views. Other areas of research interests include: Camera Calibration, Crowd Modeling and analysis, Path Modeling, Video Surveillance, Scene Understanding and Event Detection.
