TOK notes 2-08-02 Friday The tracing a conversation homework was due. We discussed that. In general, most people were able to find the bridge between nearly all portions of their conversations. Voice conversations are much hard to back track. And when you mention something in a conversation that is from the an earlier part of the conversation, it's weird. Sometimes, if a bridge wasn't apparent, maybe it's because someone was thinking to themselves and made the bridge themselves. Also, non-verbal cues can trigger a thought or memory as well. Some of the types of links found: 1) By a label that means two different things 2) events in the future that are linked by chronology 3) opposites 4) by person 5) general to specific and up and down that hierarchy. A question posed: Can we remember things completely on our own without any sort of cue?
