3. Chapter 1, Problem 8. For parts b, c, and d, you can leave you answer in terms of an expression (e.g., with sums) to be evaluated (i.e., you need not provide a specific numerical value).
4. Chapter 1, Problem 14 (page 65)
5. Chapter 2, problem 1 (page 171). If a statement is false, explain briefly why it is wrong.
6. Chapter 2, problem 9 (page 173)
7. Perform "traceroute" from Olympus to google.com at three different hours of the day.
a). Copy the three times traceroute report in your homework report.
b). Find the number of routers in the path at each of the three hours. Did the paths change during any of the hours?
c). Try to identify the number of ISP networks that the traceroute packets pass through from the source to the destination. Routers with similar names and/or similar IP addresses should be considered as part of the same ISP.
Note: google.com might have different IP addresses for different time. If in the second/thrid time you traceroute, the IP address of google.com is different from the first time, try to use "traceroute IP".
