These
web pages are about human space
exploration. Since our school is Discovery, and our mascot is an astronaut,
we thought it might be appropriate to talk about space.
The U.S. first started out with three
different space programs run by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
All of these programs were created to send a man to the moon. The first
was called the Mercury program, and was designed to first put a man in orbit.
The second program was called
Gemini. This program was designed to put to men in orbit around the Earth, and
conducted the first American spacewalk. Finally there was Apollo. Apollo was
designed to put a man on the moon, and return him safely to Earth.

This
web site talks about how these missions were conducted, and what the turn out
was. Also, this web site talks about the Space Shuttle, Spacestation Alpha.
