Courses in the minor fall into a few categories. First is the software application courses. These courses are those which utilize current applications with the intent of teaching familiarity and how they can best be utilized in today's marketplace. This includes our wordprocessing and spreadsheet classes. Courses in this category are not as detailed in theory as the rest. The third category is the theorectical, computer science courses. These courses include more theory, design issues of hardware, distributed computing, network design, etc. They also require the most effort of the three categories. The second category is a mix of the first and third categories. They are more detailed than category one courses, but not as complex as the category three courses. This includes courses which deal with the theory in some detail and also use of the current applications.
