Announcement of the term paper (or presentation):

The final paper is due 5 pm on Saturday, April 30, to be submitted to the course's WebCT site. The paper should be typed up using the font size of 11 or 12, and contains at least 5 references and around 10 pages with everything included. Each person should choose an appropriate topic and email me within the next few weeks for approval. Basically, any topics related to network forensics are acceptable. The paper could use the same topics discussed in the lectures but extended to include more details and "depth"; other related topics not discussed in class are also welcome. Use proper writing styles for the paper, which counts 30% of the grade.

Alternatively, instead of writing a paper you can propose to give a presentation for about 30 minutes. I will choose a few (if any) based on the topics of interest. As of now there are two presentations tentatively scheduled. Again, please email me a title and some details for your proposed presentation.

Two places you may use to consult for proper style guides: http://www.isat.jmu.edu/common/projects/StyleManual/ISATStyleManual.htm gives a very detailed prescription of styles for composing scientific papers, or http://computer.org/author/transguide/Word97StyleGuide.zip (except don't use the two-column format).
