Primary area of my research is Computer Vision.
Computer vision is the science and technology of machines that see. As a scientific discipline, computer vision is concerned with the theory for building artificial systems that obtain information from images [WIKI].
I am currently Associate Professor at University of Sharjah, which I joined in Jan-2009, as an Assistant Professor. Previously, I was a researcher at INRIA, a unit of the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control. Working with Laptev and Patrick Perez in the VISTA group.
My current focus of research is Human Action Recognition from arbitrary views. Other areas of research interests include: Camera Calibration, Metrology, Path Modeling, Video Surveillance, Scene Understanding and Event Detection.
